Additional information

Argan, with the scientific name Argania Spinosa, is a tree that grows only in Morocco. Argan fruits and seeds are used in traditional Moroccan cuisine and the cosmetic industry. Argan oil is a vegetable oil obtained from argan seeds and is also known as Moroccan Oil because Morocco is home to the world’s only argan tree forest.

Argan oil is primarily used in the cosmetic industry due to its preventive and curative properties, but it also contains beneficial substances for treating various internal ailments, preventing and fighting cancer, and preventing body aging.

What does argan oil contain?

Argan oil primarily contains fatty acids: 44% oleic acid, 30% alpha-linoleic acid, 12% palmitic acid, 6% stearidonic acid, 5% linoleic acid, and 3% myristic acid. It also has a very high Vitamin E content, almost 10 times higher than olive oil, possibly the highest concentration of Vitamin E among all known foods to date. It also contains unsaturated fatty acids like Omega 3, Omega 6, and Omega 9, making it a treasure for cosmetic treatments.

What are the benefits of argan oil in cosmetics?

1. Hair Care with Argan Oil

Argan oil gives hair shine, nourishes it, making it soft, silky, strong, and healthier. It also protects against the harmful effects of the sun and restores vitality even to thin and fragile hair strands. When you go to the beach, massage your wet hair with a few drops of argan oil immediately after getting out of the water, and it will form a protective shield against sun rays and salty water.

For split and fragile hair, an argan oil treatment is ideal, but you can also use it if you have oily or volumeless hair.

What are the advantages of using argan oil for hair?

  • Regenerates split hair cells thanks to its Omega 3 and Omega 9 content
  • Softens hair strands and restores their beauty
  • Hydrates hair and provides elasticity
  • Smooths hair, making it easier to comb and style
  • Prevents the harmful effects of sun, wind, and salty seawater
  • Nourishes hair, strengthens it, and helps it recover after blow-drying, flat ironing, curling, coloring, or constant hairspray application

2. Facial Skin Care with Argan Oil

Argan oil has a powerful antioxidant, moisturizing, and repairing effect. Applied regularly, it provides skin elasticity, nourishes it, heals it, and prevents stretching. Due to its high Vitamin E content, argan oil has amazing healing powers for wounds, burns, eczema, psoriasis, and helps eliminate rosacea, inflammation, and skin infections. Tocopherol (a powerful antioxidant in argan oil) is responsible for the oil’s anti-aging effect, helping to reduce wrinkles and smooth the complexion.

Even though it’s an oil, and oils are usually greasy, argan oil can be used with excellent results by people with oily skin too.

What are the advantages of using argan oil for facial skin?

  • Treats dry skin, hydrates it, and restores its natural pH
  • Fades wrinkles, provides elasticity, and smooths skin
  • Oxygenates cells and has a toning effect
  • Protects skin against ultraviolet radiation
  • Regulates sebum release for oily skin and gives it radiance
  • Fades spots
  • Regenerates skin and reduces scars
  • Treats acne and other skin conditions

3. Nail Care using Argan Oil

Argan oil is among the best treatments for nail care. It strengthens nails, helps them recover, cares for cuticles, and offers protection against external harmful agents like detergents, exposure to heat or cold, and various substances they may come into contact with.

If you apply argan oil to your cuticles in the evening before bed, it will help you get rid of redness caused by clippers, irritations from torn cuticles, and speed up healing. For a perfect and long-lasting manicure, argan oil is also the solution, as it protects nails very well and will help maintain your nail polish layer for longer without cracking. Argan oil is also a true remedy for athlete’s foot or ingrown nails due to its high fatty acid content.

What are the advantages of using argan oil for nails?

  • Fortifies nails and prevents breakage
  • Hydrates nails and cuticles
  • Eliminates redness around nails and speeds up healing
  • Helps reduce cuticle inflammation and irritation
  • Contributes to nail cell regeneration and health
  • Eliminates nail spots and fights ingrown nails and fungi
  • Prevents manicure damage and adds shine

4. Scalp Care using Argan Oil

Argan oil is also a good treatment for a dry scalp, helping to hydrate the scalp skin and eliminate dandruff by accelerating the regeneration process. If you’re experiencing scalp itchiness caused by coloring or an unsuitable shampoo, you can turn to argan oil. And even if you don’t have any of these problems, you can still apply argan oil to your scalp to maintain its health.

What are the advantages of using argan oil for the scalp?

  • Nourishes the scalp
  • Helps remove dandruff
  • Soothes itchiness
  • Contributes to skin regeneration and healing
  • Maintains a healthy scalp

5. Hand Care using Argan Oil

The skin on our hands perhaps suffers the most from environmental aggressions and interaction with hard water or various substances in detergents, or with the cold in winter.

Dry or cracked hand skin is easily repaired with argan oil, as is redness caused, for example, by cold exposure. It quickly penetrates affected skin and nourishes dry tissues, contributing to intracellular oxygenation and cell repair. Hand skin thus becomes healthy, elastic, and velvety.

What are the advantages of using argan oil for hands?

  • Softens and provides skin elasticity
  • Nourishes tissues
  • Treats dry and cracked skin from cold or exposure to detergents or soaps
  • Removes hand redness
  • Stimulates cell regeneration.

6. Stretch Mark Treatment using Argan Oil

Argan oil is excellent as a stretch mark treatment for pregnant women, and beyond, as it can regenerate skin, heal it, and restore its elasticity. Expectant mothers can start using argan oil regularly for stretch mark prevention from the first months of pregnancy. A regular full-body massage with argan oil will help the skin more easily navigate the various stages of pregnancy without leaving unsightly marks. Of course, not only expectant mothers can benefit from this treatment; an argan oil massage can be a pleasant and beneficial experience for anyone.

What are the advantages of using argan oil in treating stretch marks?

  • Regenerates skin
  • Helps prevent and heal stretch marks
  • Restores skin elasticity in the affected area
  • Can also be used for full-body massage

7. Cellulite Treatment using Argan Oil

Cellulite, or the so-called orange peel appearance of the skin, can be eliminated by following a daily treatment based on body massage with argan oil. It is rich in tocopherols that have a draining effect on the skin, stimulate blood circulation, and can dislodge accumulated fat. Through circular movements, the oil penetrates the skin and stimulates fat burning and the regeneration of healthy cells. Of course, massage alone does not guarantee amazing results if you do not also adopt some lifestyle and daily diet changes.
